I was beginning to fear that I wasn't going to be able to get to Dave's life celebration. The Harley-Davidson 105 birthday party is going on this weekend. I could not find a hotel for 100 miles, but one of Skyes friends have offered me their guest room. People really are wonderful. If you can, think of Skye and send her some peace. She is in a dark place and needs all the prayers she can get. This is a poem that David posted on his blog almost one year ago. I think we all can benifit from it's message.
"Advice from a Tree"
Dear Friend Stand Tall and Proud Sink your roots deeply into the Earth Reflect the light of your true nature Think long term Go out on a limb Remember your place among all living beings Embrace the joy the changing seasons For each yields its own abundance The Energy and Birth of Spring The Growth and Contentment of Summer The Wisdom to let go like the leaves in the Fall The Rest and Quiet renewal of Winter Feel the wind and the sun And delight in their presence Look up at the moon that shines down upon you And the mystery of the stars at night Seek nourishment from the good things in life Simple pleasuresEarth, fresh air, light Be content with your natural beauty Drink plenty of water Let your limbs away and dance in the breezes Be flexible Remember your roots Enjoy the view
Until next time David
